Massage

About Massage

Massage is manual manipulation of the skin and soft tissues using a variety of techniques depending on the outcome desired and the clients presenting conditions. Oil is used to reduce friction and increase the flow of movement.

The benefits of massage may include pain relief, softening of tight muscles, mood enhancement and a reduction in stress and anxiety.

Source Natural Therapy uses a range of gentle Swedish Massage techniques, delivered in an intuitive manner bespoke to the individual’s needs. Your consultation helps determine this. * Often with massage less is more ! - my experience gained from working in a hospice setting taught me this. Gentler massage techniques still produced desired results, often with more significant benefits. Try it yourself !

What to expect from a back, neck and shoulder massage

When receiving a Back, Neck and Shoulder massage you will be asked to remove clothing from the waist up, before lying face down on the couch. Then some pure organic oil will be applied to your skin, before the massage commences.

Facial Massage

A light and nourishing oil helps improved skin tone, circulation and elasticity. Deeply relaxing and uplifting. Performed lying down on a couch. May be of particular help to those with sinus conditions and tension headaches. The top of the shoulders are also included in this massage technique

Do I need regular treatments ?

The relaxing and restorative benefits of Massage are often increased if the treatments are received on a regular basis. This can be up to twice weekly to begin with depending on the presenting conditions. Often customers go on to choose a regular 'maintenance' massage either fortnightly or monthly to maintain a sense of well being.

After your massage

It is advised that you drink plenty of water in the 24 hours following your massage and rest accordingly.
